Scanning – Books/ Microfilms/ Microfiche
AEL Data uses a sophisticated image-processing software application to scan a wide variety of document types. Scanning solutions include photo scanning with color correction, image manipulation and line art scanning. All scanning practices are strictly in accordance with BIP0008 - Code of Practice on legal admissibility of electronic documents and evidential weight of information as well as ISO 27001 (Information Security Management Systems).
Our state- of- the- art micrographic lab is equipped with high-speed roll film, microfiche scanning and printing equipment from Sunrise, Canon, Wicks & Wilson, to name a few.
Microfilms can be scanned from both 16mm and 35 mm positive or negative film, printed onto A3 size copies and written onto CD-ROM, DVD-ROM or optical discs for instant on-demand service. Microfilms can be scanned using both automatic mode and manual mode, depending on the frame structure of the microfilm. Microfiche scanning can be done from either COM or Jacket Microfiche formats.
We also scan at resolutions between 100 DPI and 600 DPI in all formats:
- Bitonal
- Grayscale
- Color formats
Our Microfilm scanning lab has the capability to print to A3 size directly from microfilm and microfiche. Microform images can be scanned to TIFF, JPG, PDF or any other format as required.
Our expertise includes post-scanning image enhancement processes such as cropping, deskew, despeckle, lighting correction, histogram adjustment, filter, book curvature correction and more.
